Best scene in the episode :catblush

But yeah, this was also a great episode. I just wish they would explain why particular spices make the girls superhuman but I'm willing to chalk it up to a fun gimmick cuz this is fun to watch regardless.

We got quite a bit this episode, but yeah we could get more. She really is caring, even if she's not too good at expressing it.

Pretty sure Aoba's former mentor is the traitor.

    episode 8

    Spoiler:

Man, I don't want to believe it, yet...but I think Yuki has to be the traitor. These are not my own thoughts I solely came up with since I visit the animesuki forum as well, but there are some hints given here that make her seem more likely now. Aside from her leader/hardass personality, one can argue that she's basically training and teaching Momo everything so that when Yuki reveals herself as a traitor, she's hoping that Momo will do what she was taught to survive whatever's coming her way. And I we can see Yuki's Spyce effect slowly fade and her little remark makes it sound like it's been happening for a while now.

Goe was definitely the highlight for me this episode. She didn't really do much on-screen compared to the other 3 on the island, but she definitely learned a lot from the last episode. She's very endearing! Also, Viking girl opening up the door to reveal even more viking helmets made me lol.

So what was up at the beginning with Hatsume and Theresia? Kinda came out of nowhere.

    Spoiler:
My thoughts were on Katrina because when the zombie muscle woman attacked the hideout, Katrina called out her name iirc, which is what made me think she's the traitor. The only way Katrina would've known that is if she was with Moryo. Yuki being the traitor might make sense if you're assuming she's the final boss, but I don't think so. I think that plot point is being set up such that Momo will be the one to protect her during the final battle against Moryo's boss. Up until now, it's always been Yuki protecting Momo, and with Yuki losing her powers, it's the perfect setup for a role-reversal with Momo protecting Yuki, thus showing everything she learned from Yuki and putting that to good use.

To add to the above, this episode has been about Yuki telling Momo to prioritize her own safety so that she can better take care of herself when Yuki can't protect her anymore. This episode is foreshadowing Yuki won't be able to hold her hand for much longer with the scene where she slaps Momo as well as showing the effect of her spice being diminished. It didn't at all feel to me like this is hinting at her being the traitor, but rather a show of how she's trying to pass on the torch.

Also, why would Yuki deliberately train Momo so hard just to set up a final fight when she decides to reveal herself as the traitor? That doesn't make any logical sense, hence why I think the chances of Yuki being the traitor are basically 0. If it's going to be anyone we've seen, it's likely Katrina because it can't be any of the main girls.

EXACTLY, that's what I was thinking as well.

    Spoiler:
Why would Yuki do all of this? To avoid suspicion? I can see your side as well. At any rate, the Spyce effects aren't lasting on her as long as it used to, so the role reversal theory would make sense. I still want to trust in Yuki and believe that Katrina is still the traitor.

    Spoiler:
Yeah, Yuki definitely isn't the traitor imo. Like I said, nothing hints at that being the case.

Knowing asuki forums as well, people come up with the most batshit crazy theories there so I'm not surprised people want to see a showdown between Yuki and Momo at the end, but I feel that's not what the show's about :skully

Man this episode was heavy :gglife

I'm glad we got to understand so much more about Yuki, and definitely enjoying the mentor-student dynamic between her and Momo. Yuki retelling her story made it so much more meaningful. I feel like this series is highly underrated for this season tbh because every episode has been very consistent.
