very good read. I suggest you take a look and pay your respects to the GB XD
Victim of progress.
Whatever, All I got's is my original GameBoy.
Read all of it, RIP Gameboy!
poor game boy
the game boy was one of the best toys ever but its day has ended
RIP I might give mine a send of with a proper burning, the again I still nead it to play gameboy games.
Oh wait, thinking about it I have a gameboy, Gameboy colour and advance. Sigh end of a legacy.
RIP, game boy. We will always remember you fondly.
*makes a shrine with my Game Boy pocket and origional GBA*
It was a long good life, for years the best one and even nintendo had a hard time finding a way to kill him (remember the Virtual boy fiasco).
All things are destined to be over some day, Thanks GB
Gameboy's dead, huh?
Well that's sad, I guess. But they still have the DS.
DS is the new gameboy anyway, but yes RIP GBA, you brought some excellent games.
RIP Gameboy. Only games I played on you were pokemon and street fighter. You will be missed.
Given this information, I damn well hope that Nintendo makes GB games part of the virtual drive selection for the Wii! I've always hoped this, but since the GB is dying, it would make sense (and dollars) to make it so.
Nintendo is mean for killing Gameboy, if they really didn't want to keep making the brand, they should have made the DS the Gamboy DS, sort of like the article said. On a side note, my brother recently bought a micro, and it started me back playing some of the GBA RPGs I never beat, Golden Sun, FFIV, FFI and II, FFTA, good stuff. The smaller Micro screen actually make the sprites look better. I wish they would have supported it more. There are alot of GBA games I will eventually get because I need to, Golden Sun Lost Age (I think that is the name), FFV, FFVI, I never played Minish Cap, or the Mario Brother RPGs on it. I love the Gameboy, it is a legend.
God damn school blocking the site.
But, it sounds like I may actually have to get a DS soon.
*hugs her neongreen gameboy.. and throws it out of the window* Rest in peace dear ...
That was a very interesting read, I think Ill read it again O.o
i highly doubt the GBA will die i mean as long as GBA games are made the gameboy brand will never die. FF 5 /6 are proabably its biggest hitters this year.
I blame the death of the Gameboy on people who only bought flash carts, and download ROMs.
By death of the gameboy..it's the death of the hardware line called gameboy. as well as the games. Most likely in two years no more gba games will be made.
Well, i got an original gameboy, a pokemon yellow gameboy and a GBA.
I am sad to see it go...
Ah the fond memories of mario, tetris and lemmings....
Mario still rules^^^
But the Gameboy.... I have a Gameboy color with Pokemon Crystal.
It is lost now... maybe a signal that it has gone to the after life.
aw, what will keep me occupied when i'm on the toilet now?
Wow that was a really good and indepth read, and to tell the truth, I never really liked how the GBA micro was headed in the first place, it was just too soon for that considering that the sp came out like a year or a few months before, and the DS was getting ready to come out, and personally I didn't like the design at all.
Anyway, the neglect was very apparent, but something kept telling me that they'd just take back their words and just admit that the DS was originally supposed to be the GBA's successor. I always thought that the whole fact of it being its own system was a cover up for just in case it failed, so they could have their cake and eat it too (as in if it succeded, then they'd call it the future gameboy later on, and if it failed, then they could say it was never part of the game boy family anyway).
I feel sad now....
I remember my first gen old big fat gray purple buttoned game boy.....I still have it somewhere....I'll go bury it tomorrow
I still have mine and it still works. Even if it's gone, It'll always be remembered. The legacy must go on or so they say.
