Sai looks like Sasuke and according to Naruto he even sounds like him, but here is the mayor difference. I predict that Sai actually killed his older brother. And he could do it because he has no emotions, unlike Sasuke.

Itachi is the tough one of the Uchiha brothers. He needed to test his capacity, probably, to enter Akatsuki. Maybe sai needed to do something similar to become part of "root".

In the future, when Sai and Sasuke meet, Sai may have a big influence on him about killing his sibling. Sasuke does have some close bond with Itachi, but this dream only exists in the past.

Well, so far for my thoughts on it.

What happend in Sai?s past and what role does he play in the near future?

    Good theory.

I think it could be a possibility however if Sasuke is an enemy in this series I don't see how he could find out about Sai's past easily.

I like the theory except for one thing. Sai views Sasuke as an enemy and a traitor, so I don't see either of them getting along, let alone Sai being able to influence him.

Hmmmm good theory. Almost a reverse Itachi situation. I'd actually find that to be an interesting aspect to the story.

    Nice theory, Dabura!

Well, I think the main point here is for Sai to see sasuke as the weakling who had to run for power; while Sai could do it and keep being loyal to the village.

What if root had earlier plans for getting Sasuke? =/

I don't think the theory is true
    1) root is like secret agents of konoha
    2) konoha wouldn't encourage such acts

as for itachi's case it might be true though

I think you may be right about the idea on sai's past, but I think that sasuke should smash him upon enterence.....

Nice thought! Sai spoke of that he doesn't want to be compaired with sasuke, he even called him a traitor. Maybe kishi wants everybody to see Sai as a bad Sasuke duplicate at first, but actually he is very different. Even naruto things he is.

    About his past>
Maybe the "picture book" of Sai tells about some important event in Sai's life, related to his brother. But he said it isn't complete yet and he couldn't show it to anyone, cause it belongs to his brother. Could this mean his bro is still living, or is it a memorial to him he is making. Although, he has no emotions, so why make a memorial picture book he ;> ?

I think he has some emotion left, remember when sai's sempai had to remind him that he is anbu root and can't have any emotions, also telling him to stop looking at that picture or book or whatever

I actually like this idea a lot. It makes sense, as killing your brother that you had an incestual relationship with would in fact make you a robot/vampire transvestite obsessed with penises. Sasuke would see this and be like "WTF, it isn't worth it!" .......

Seriously though, I do like the idea a lot.

I didn't thought that Sai could have killed his own brother... interesting theory, really. *nice pose* ;)

Hmm, I doubt that Sai would have killed his bother, and I dout that Sai will really have a chance to influence Saskue unless he's really got some really strange secret motives. Sai seems a little to sentamental about his brother to have killed him. Also, I doubt that Saskue would listen to Sai, much like I doubt that Sai would have anything that he would want to tell Saskue. Interesting idea, but I don't see how it could develop with the way the story is progressing unless roots is doing something completely different out in left field.

I think that the reason why he doesn't have any feelings is because his older brother got killed by someone else, but that's just me.

Sorry, but I think your theory is 100% wrong and is trying to give complexion where there is only simplicity. Sai is basically the anti version of Kurapica from h x h. Kurapica lost his clan and swore vegence. He was however very emotionally torn, when he tried to achieve said vengence. His reaction to tragedy, was external, he vowed to right the external conflicts. Sai reaction is internal. That is, that he became emotionless and swore off human principles. He doesn't love, he doesn't hate he is only; he lives only for his mission, that has come from Root. They probably took Sai in because they saw his coldness and knew it could be an ideal weapon, allowing for him to be the type of ninja they needed.

Seriously, Sai has no reason to have anything more complex then the most typical obvious story. He is cannon fodder and needs to get his ass killed.

Ps: There are enough chars who have killed thier mother/father/siblings and who are emotionally disturbed, anymore means redundancy on top of redudancy.
