    It'd explain a lot.

For one, it would explain why Hidan and Kakuzu are in Konoha; the only other explanation would be that they were there for Naruto, and that, for whatever reason, Itachi and Kisame were taken off the case.

For a second, it'd explain why he was suddenly brought out of nowhere to be part of a main arc.

For a third, it'd explain why he might be the 'strongest in his generation.'

Sai certainly seems to fill the jinchuuriki qualities as well, ie being (mostly) alone and by himself, for the most part.

    What do you all think?

Although it is possible, but I don't think kishi would do.
Didn't Itachi say he wanted to retreat because they had plenty of time?
    +Sasuke pwned him.

Theres no way that hes a jinchuuriki. I think people are putting way too much weight on what Danzou said about Sai.

Jinchuuriki is for ninja who can't do anything else.

Sai has ink jutsu and secret anbu skills. :nod

Except everything. He was so intent with keeping bonds with Naruto, why wouldn't he use his power? Why wouldn't Danzou, a warhawk, teach Sai how to use his power? How would Konoha not know about another jinchuuriki in their presence (as is the Hokages and the council). If they were so worried about Naruto going out, why let Sai out too?

    Is he from Konoha?

    Then yes.

In fact, that also makes him a member of Akatsuki, and the 3rd MS user.

refering to the 1st post: if that's the case, then everyone is a potential jinchuriki. that sucks. you could say shino, a bug jinchuriki. but let's not go there. pls leave the fact that there's only 1 jinchuriki for 1 hidden village intact. lame surprises like that are for fillers anyway.

Akatsuki is made up of people full of ego and they lack communication as a group. It would be an out of character assumption to think that they are concerned with Itachi.
I agree that there is more to Sai than what we see so far. If he i finished here, his appearance is a pointless addition except a preditable conversion by the bond between Naruto and Sasuke.

However, adding Sai into the story to reinforce the idea of Jinchuuriki is not very convincing. We've already seen how Gaara and Naruto's destiny is opened to fear and hate. It is kind of repetitive to be honest. And he should relates to Naruto because of the most important thing called friendship. Being the same type with Naruto would diminish the value of what Naruto influences him.

I think he will be related to other mysterious characters. That's why he is brought up in the manga. He has a mysterious background. And Kishi hinted that he has fear beyond his apprehension. Maybe he can find his real family or real enemy somewhere later in the manga. I believe it's more about his relation to other characters than him being a jinchuuriki. He is more interesting than that. And there seems to be no mysterious jinchuuriki since they are made into Jinchuurikis mostly based on some kind of tribal decision or, in Naruto's case, on battlefield.

no becasue it is said that each of the villages has one jin. and konoha cant have 2, that would be retarded. plus, what jin would he have, he hasnt shon any signs of it. and lastly, naruto gets along with jinchuurikis very well and he didnt get off to a great start with sai

If Sai was a jinchuuriki, it wouldn't make sense at all. Because we don't see him pocessing super strength or chakra... well.. at least, not yet..
