Just curious, but do scary movies actually scare you? Do you literally jump out of your seat when something happens? Or do they have no affect on you?

Anyways, I think I was scared once or twice in my life.
When I was younger, Casper scared me when I saw it in theatres. ._.

I only get scared, so people actually think the movie is scary, but it takes a very horrifying film to scare me, one which I have no seen yet.

Here’s the thing: When you actually go watch a scary movie, your mindset is that the movie will be scary, so you are prepared for it. It isn’t scary when you are prepared for it. It is only scary when you are caught off guard.

Yeah, I get scared. And whenever I do I garble junk and cover my eyes. It's not something I'm proud of.

I am not scared of gory movies. It's even rare for me to jump in surprise. I wasn't always this way though. I remember being really scared when I watched Batman Returns. The Penguin terrified me. He bit of someone's nose!

Well, I saw nearly 30 minutes of the Chucky movie series when I was seven and has scared the shit out of me now and probably forever.

I can stand zombie movies but movies that are very violent like Saw and Chucky, I just can't watch a few seconds of it before getting scared and being paraniod for a week.

No, I don't really get scared of watching horror movies. I just like the whole suspensive parts in them, they amuse me. Watching Grudge 2 tomorrow night, or on saturday with a couple of friends. Although, the first one sucked ass, in my opinion.

I'm a fan of horror movies, but you are correct. :nod

You know when they were actually scary? The beginning, of course. Back then, when first experiencing a horror movie, that's how you get scared. Then you watch so many of them, that you just don't get terrified anymore. It's just the same old shit, but with a different storyline. :oh

No movie has ever really scared me, though Gothika made me jump once, Wolf Creek left me paranoid, and The Descent psychologically scarred me.

Shock value is always good, but it's not necessarily scary in the sense you're asking.
