Here we can talk about Disney's management of SW and the politics/culture war surrounding it without bumping the Last Jedi thread.

    Chuck Wendig just got fired.

Jake Lloyd, the actor who played Anakin in The Phantom menace, retired from acting because his classmates relentlessly taunted him for his role, which makes me wonder why those other students did that; he must not have been attending a nerd-friendly school, because, at the school that I attended, the other students would have practically worshiped him for having such a role.

Also, this may be off-topic, but I read somewhere that Darth Vader's famous confession to Luke in The Empire Strikes Back was almost different: I read that the original line was "Obi-Wan killed your father," which, while not as utterly shocking as "I am your father," would have still been an interesting twist. Can you imagine how different the franchise, and popular culture in general, would have been if that line had been used?

I've never been too big on the films outside the OT, but man I'd love a new Rogue Squadron game.

Force Awakens has fanfiction writing: Disney wanted to rehash New Hope so bad that they threw out logic and world-building out of the window: The Republic was stupid enough to scrap 90 percent of their fleet in a galaxy that they did not even fully discover
