This site may confuse you. It's not virus infested but I'm really intrigued to see how this thing works.

Anybody who sees the pattern? I'd like to know. I just noticed everytime you refresh symbols would shuffle, and multiples of 9 except 90 are the same... and other numbers. I'm starting to hate the graphic because of this. Check it out!

    Ideas, anyone?

    Now my head hurts!

Any two digit number, minus the sum of both digits, equals a mupltiple of nine (9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81). You will find that every mupltiple of nine has the same symbol.

Oh, and the reason 90 doesn't share the symbol is because you can't get the number 90 or 99 this way, you'd need three digits. 90-9=81, 91-10=81, 99-18=81.

    10-(1+0)=9
    11-(1+1)=9
    12-(1+2)=9
    .
    .
    .
    25-(2+5)=18
    26-(2+6)=18
    27-(2+6)=18
    .
    .
    .
    84-(8+4)=72
    85-(8+5)=72
    86-(8+6)=72

And so on. How convenient that the symbols of multiples of nine just happen to be the same.

//Edit; Hurhur, am I slow or what.

Say you have a 2 digit number 10a + b, and subtract the sum of the digits, a + b.
    10a + b - (a + b) = 9a. Thus, you will always have a multiple of 9.

heh. I've tried it but the numerical pattern is very linear to trick people. Or is it just me coz after all i'm already in college? :amuse
i believe that logical thinking isn't something that is inherent in a person. Exposure to puzzles like this will sharpen one's thinking. Logical thinking is a skill that is achieved and enhanced through practice.

Try www.highiqsociety.com. a great site to flex those cerebral muscles.

BTW, I passed the test. got 159 (okay, so what?). If you wan't to be a member of the abovementioned community (of the mentally endowed, or so they say), here's my ID. Take it gratis. :cool Passed the test thrice so I still have 2 IDs.:p

All multiples of nine will have the same symbol, including zero:
    0 9 18 27 36 45 54 63 72 81 99

90 was not included since if you pick 99, it'l be:

    9 + 9 = 18
    99 - 18 = 81

It fooled me for 2 minutes.

90 is a multiple of 9 but it does not result in any number. Why? because 99-18 = 81. I'd say the pattern changes every retry to make the trick hidden.
