    Game 3:
    San Antonio Spurs; 75 <---
    Cleveland Cavaliers; 72

Game 4: Thursday June 14th at 8:30 PM; Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio.
*Game 5: Sunday June 17th at 8:30 PM; Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio.
*Game 6: Tuesday June 19th at 8:30 PM; AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas.

MY team the spurs will win it all.

    2-3-2 Format is dumb.

That is interesting. That fact now shows maybe a glimmer of hope for people rooting for the Cavs, myself being one of them. :sweatdrop

*Sigh* I would rather any other team besides the Spurs winning the championship, but odds are they will.

Edit: Wait, let me fix that. I would rather any other team besides the Spurs and Nets winning the championship. :amuse

I want to talk about a major change in this series. Gibson did a nice job against Detroit...but he will be completely shut out in this series. I hope he enjoyed his fun while it lasted. Another thing worth mentioning, this is the worst frontline that Tim Duncan has gone against all playoffs. He can score against Gooden at will. I expect Lebron to do well against Bowen, but I think Parker and Duncan will be too much.

    4-2 Spurs

I agree that the 2-3-2 format is trash. It gives the second place team an advantage to play 3 staight at home.

So D. Wade lead his team to the championship last year and LeBron led his team to the finals this year. What about Carmelo? He led his team to the first round for 4 straight years and never left the first round :(

sorry to rain on the parade, but there is no way the nuggets get into the finals next year, if they couldn't make it this year. because of the iverson trade, the nuggets have basically no financial flexability. iverson is only getting older, they don't have anyone that can suddenly surprise people (maybe nene, but otherwise none), and the west has only gotten better with oden and durant coming.

@ rukia. ginobli and finley will also have fun against the extremely green cavs. do the cavs have ANY finals experience? eric snow?

Did you honestly think that the Warriors were going to beat Dallas before game 1? Did you think the Cavs were going to beat the Pistons before game 1? Anything is possible in the league, and the Nuggets making it to the finals isn't impossible. Also with Oden and Durant coming to the west, these two rookies are great players but that doesn't mean they'll even make the playoffs. Portland has a great chance because of Z.Bo, Brandon Roy, and Lamarcus Aldridge.

Carmelo led his team to a championship BEFORE d wade, it was just the NCAA one, but he has his championship in a sense already

Yeah, the spurs SHOULD win, but we are dealing with lebron. He is such an X factor. He is learning on the fly, last night he had to deal with a whole new level of defense, with people on him, but he might know how to deal with it by the time the finals start.

I am not saying the cavs have a good cahnce, the spurs are clearly a better team. But maybe the cavs have something better, lebron

the pistons looked non chalant, but i wasn't expecting a dallas upset

however, sportwriters time and time again have noted that the NBA is the most pridictable of the major sports. if you were on a team with shaq or duncan in the last decade, you would have won 7 out of the last 10 finals.

the overall strength of the west matters a lot because of the fact that the season is so absurdly long. a strong west leads to a much harder regular season => more tired for the playoffs

Although I love the Cavs, its going to be very hard for them to pull this off. Absolutely no Finals experience and the team is very young, while the Spurs have been here three times already. Also, Gibson ain't gonna knock all those threes down so easily. If the Spurs were able to keep the three-crazy Suns in tact, then some rookie ain't going to do any better. Spurs in six =/.

Good assumptions, Spurs in 6. I think Spurs will win this year's finals, in 6 too. Spurs will win first 2, than Clevland will win 2 out of 3 at home, then Spurs will go back home with a 3-2 and win the championship at home. But, I think Lebron will get it next year if he can carry his team to the finals again. Once he wins a championship, he's gonna stay on top for a while kind of like Jordan. But I don't think he'll win 6 championships like Jordan. At least we know that Lebron is better than Kobe the ballhog.

Bruce Bowen on Lebron for the duration of these finals I bet. Lebron will definitely learn some valuable lessons.

Bowen will still get scorched although San Antonio will take the championship.

How do you guys see the Lebron / Bowen matchup going ?
I don't really like Bowen much at all especially after what he did to Steve Nash.
I hope Lebron takes him to the cleaners...The cavs have a decent enough chance in the finals I suppose. They did beat the spurs twice this season after all.

bowen won't be able to do much to james in the beginning of the series, but i think he'll gradually wear him down as the series progresses

The safe bet is on the Spurs, but anything can happen in the playoffs. Which is something GS proved this year in their match up with Dallas.
