So uhh is this the Skywind project that's been going on since ages?

Oh no it's not. It's Tamriel during the Skyrim era :hmm

Bruma was pretty nice so it's worth giving their stuff a go.

Although it didn't work on my Skyrim LE, just got endless crashes, works nice on my SE though.

So do any if you have a custom music setup for Skyrim? As in music actually inserted into the game to replace the vanilla?

I'm bored so I thought I'd share my setup. I've extended most of these songs to 15 minutes long or more for the ones that I couldn't already find extended.

Note - Not all of them are lore friendly or always fit the style of Skyrim but some of them work pretty well.

    Exploration Music (All areas)
    Spoiler:

You're all gonna hate me for some of the incredibly lore unfriendly choices here but fuck it. Even so there are still some that fit the tone of the game somewhat.
    Towns (All)
    Spoiler:

(Here's the part where I get stabbed by die-hard Elder Scrolls purists)

Combat (General) I'm actually not going to list specific CW music in this case.
    Spoiler:

(Shit man, when I found this I ended up going into a playlist with just the fucking login music for the game and I was hit so hard with feels. Fucking miss this game. Fucking Cave ruined it. Now it's JP only and speaking any word of english on JP servers gets your ass perma banned x.x)

(There's one from the SMT online ost I couldn't find)

    Dungeons (All)
    Spoiler:

(A bunch of SMT online Dungeon songs that I can no longer find but have saved on a folder)

These next two are two of my true favorites, I think they fit really well in Skyrims dungeons

    Dwemer and Fort Dungeons
    Spoiler:

    Forts

    Dwemer

    Falmer Valley
    Spoiler:
Vein of Grief from Drakengard 2
    Will to Fight FF13

    Ancient Pulsation

(Why Amusement park? Because it's kinda mystical, much like this particular area with its strange plants and the one surviving Snow Elf.) It's also kinda tragic which fits the tone of the occurrences there.

    Soul Cairn
    Spoiler:

I think it can be argued that these fit even better than Skyrim's default music.
Chapter 4 on the Ground Drakengard 1

Songs I'm now going to add thanks to finding them while compiling this list.

    Spoiler:

I still can't believe after all these years that it's just fucking log in menu music. I think I'm gonna put it in my dungeon themes. Might even replace my current college theme

I think that's enough, there's a few more but this list is long enough as it is.

It's sad that it's come to the point when I read that I hear attention seeking rather than a legitimate rape.

    Too much crying wolf.

I need an honest advice guys!

Is the original Skyrim without any DLCs worth getting on Steam right now?

I'm asking because my PC can't handle the Special Edition BUT the original never goes on sale now that Bethesda pretty much forces you to ignore it on Steam... :facepalm

If you just want Skyrim, the DLCs really aren't crucial. I've had them for at least half a decade and I've never played them. :blobowo

I see... What advantages does the original Skyrim on Steam have over the SE?

I've played Skyrim on this PC when it came out (yes my rig is that old...) and it ran without any issues!

I'm not sure the original has any advantages over the SE other than being able to run on older hardware. When the SE first came out, the original had the benefit of a much larger library of mods, but that's not the case any more.

I don't know that much about the differences, though. Perhaps there are some hidden things OG Skyrim did better that I don't know about. :hm

The original probably has more mods. Many modders updated their mods to work on SE too, but others did not, maybe because they didn't care or maybe because they weren't working on them anymore by the time the SE came out.

I know back then there were issues with getting some mods to work properly on the SE but that's some years ago, I don't know how the situation is these days.

OG still has more mods but some of them need the DLC to work

Also how much you wanna bet Bethesda is gonna keep porting Skyrim to new consoles and releasing new editions :scust
