It's like they're all smelling the mess Bethesda brought on themselves with Fallout 76 and saw their chance to sweep in for the kill.

2K signed a deal for crossplatform before Microsoft bought obsidian, so no, its not an exclusive.
Tho, I have a theory that later games in this franchise might have to go through corporate hell.
Looks like Obsidian will do Fallout proper again.

One solar system called Halcyon
The solar system contains two main planets, several moons, asteroids, and space stations that players can explore
One planet is terraformed, the other is not
The terraformed planet is considered "kinder to human life" while the other planet is not and is considered more dangerous and contains alien predators

Environments are small but have intense detail
Roaming around environments is possible

Inventory, when companions are with you, is shared

Each companion comes with three skills
Each companion comes with a perk tree
Every time you level up, your companions level up
You can choose which perks your companions get when they level up with you
Each companion as a special attack
Companions will leave you and go back to the ship if you piss them off too much
When fighting a certain type of enemy many times, you are given the choice to take on a Flaw
Flaws negatively impact you and your companion's stats
You can choose to accept or reject them
If you choose to accept the Flaw, you are immediately granted 1 perk point
If you reject the Flaw, the game continues as before
Flaws are permanent
Can only have 3 flaws in normal difficulty, can have 5 on a hard difficulty
Flaw examples include Robophobia, a fear of heights, a fear of the dark, a fear of fire, etc.
Tactical Time Dilation
Very similar to VATS from Fallout
Time slows down and allows you to view information on enemies like their health, faction, enemy type, and armor level
Unlike VATS, aiming is 100% manual
Skills and Perks allow for more frequent use or longer use
4 weapon types - Bullet weapons, Energy weapons, Melee, and science weapons
Bullet weapons have 3 types of bullet ammo - Light, medium, heavy
Science weapons have special effects like a shrink ray for instance
No RNG for shooting enemies with weapons
Weapons can have mods
Mods for weapons include ones that give fire damage and shock damage
Damage is based on the damage output from the weapon and your character
There is a weapon selection wheel
A small map but with actual shit to do, a companion system that isn't glorified tinder with an actual social component, a time slow mechanic that's totally not VATs, an interesting trade-off system with clear benefits and drawbacks and no RNG bullshit? But the most important, banter and dialogue that doesn't sound like generic video game bullshit from Bethesda or Bioware?
I fucking want this game.
Hmmm... this looks like Borderlands 2 and Fallout New Vegas having a lovechild together. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for this one, looks very interesting.
