I'll just start by listing favourite hardcore bands:

    Verse
    Have Heart
Carpathian (new is hardcore, but I still like the old metalcore/beatdown stuff)
    50 Lions
    Comeback Kid
    Shook Ones

That's a a nice list heres some stuff i've been listening too

    Dance Gavin Dance
    Fall of Troy
    IWrestledABearOnce

Something funny that i just noticed. In school about 85% of my peers strictly listen to HipHop music, mind you thats a rough estimate. So too piss them off or too grab there attention to see there reaction. I'll usually blast some hardcore from my ipod in the middle of class. It's pretty hilarious. everyone will turn and go O_O. "What the fuck are you listening too?", Then I'll say "Real Music....". :gar

I've been meaning to check out DGD for a while now haha. FOT are amazing, they're my favourite post-hardcore band. Others I've been listening to a fair bit are:

    A Day To Remember
    Thursday
    Chiodos
Enter Shikari (although they don't fall under any of these genres anymore)
    and Greeley Estates

My school (and most of the schools in my town, for that matter) from what I know, are fairly good and somewhat open-minded with music, and theres a balanced mix of the hardcore kids, metalheads, hip-hop fans, electronica fans, and then the pop fans. Plus many are into a mix of all these, so its good.

I've been hearing alot about Chiodos dude, my friends been raving about them. I took a listen but i was turned off by Craig Owen's voice. Though i hear he has different ranges varying within his songs. Currently within the Hardcore world i would have to say that easily Jonny Craig and Kurt Travis are the best singer in the respective scenes.

Jonny Craig - Kurt Travis -

Also get into DGD, there amazing. Easily one of my top favorite bands. They Easily have one of the best Drummers in the hardcore scene. The first video is Kurt Travis, the second is Jonny Craig.

Yeah, Craig Owens has a love it or hate it type voice. It gets on my nerves a little sometimes but most of the time I'm fine with it. The DGD video is pretty sick, definitely peaked my interest. Which album would you recommend first?

    IWRESTLEDABEARONCE is hardcore?

    Really?

I love Wake The Dead, especially the title track.

I pinned them down as technical deathcore with mathcore tendencies. If you took away their guitar wankery they'd just be another deathcore band, only thing separating them from the rest is the female vocalist.

But yeah, they aren't hardcore at all. I just didn't point that out before for the sake of not turning this into a flamefest :p

thank god i just came back so i can school you faggots in what is and isn't hardcore.

dance gavin dance and iwrestledabearonce are NOT hardcore, at all. they are shitty "experimental" scene deathcore bands.

and, god dammit, comeback kid are an awful excuse for new hardcore...

Ano, Cell i think the category of hardcore is a bit broad so that's why i mentioned Dance Gavin and IWrestledABearOnce. Not every one can be as hardcore as you :arg
