I don't really like the whole idea of animals being used for such enterntainment purposes but no laws were broken so I'm not sure what the problem is here?

They could of just bought a stuffed animal tiger and thrown it in a cage instead of making a poor real tiger sit through a boring ass prom with no choice but to watch it. They could of saved money as well.

Tigers are not pets. Every subspecies of tiger is either endangered or threatened. Also, like all big cats, they are hypercarnivores.

Oh. I guess some people are unaware. I apologize. A hypercarnivore will eat 70% or more of its diet in meat. Whereas a dog would be more likely to eat vegetation, a tiger is very unlikely to do so. This feeding behavior makes the tiger, and in fact all species of Felidae, hypercarnivores. An example of how different two species from the same family can differ in their diet would be polar bears and grizzly bears. Both are from the Ursidae family, but polar bears are hypercarnivores, consuming 90% meat while grizzly bears consume a mere 10% meat in their diet.

Poor tiger, being forced to see the awkward dances, the hover-hands, the arms length betwixt adolescent pelvic areas, the nerdy kids trying to dance up on some innocent young thang.
    That's the real crime here.

There was a movie based on a Canadian who wanted to take his date to prom. It was based on a true story.
