could some of these people be said to be smarter than gabriel or hell's triumvirate? and how would constantine's confidence tricks work on joker, a man who is batshit insane, but also still creepily sane in a very unpredictable way?

just asking to play devil's advocate here, sometimes it's not as simple as 'he tricked x, he can trick y' - different intellects and different personalities interact in different ways

But Constantine is the dude who cons cosmics that would have special powers making it equally or more difficult to do so. Mike Carey has said that Constantine would lose to Lucifer but would still rob him off his wallet, if he can con Lucifer like that, there's few things he can't con. He's got powerful magic that may help with cheating against Joker.

AN: If Constantine and Lucifer were in a drag down take out no-holds-barred fight, who wins?

fury, that's a facetious, joking sort of remark which i really don't think should be considered proof of anything realistically, lucifer would will john out of existence in a microsecond

He would don't doubt that, Carey's statement just says Lucifer would win but would see his wallet missing which I assume is just saying John would con him off it even if he'd lose which is the type of thing he'd do and does. Most likely he is joking around hence why I said it could be ignored(the wallet bit though I assumed he was just saying that while Lucy is smarter and more powerful, if they go at it, Lucy would IC not use brute force and John IC would try to con him only to lose to Lucy but still do something minor to him in battle of wit/intellect, I'm assuming he's going with both in character here).

In intelligence I'd see Lucy making him go the way of Basanos Child, the pantheon of gods he faced early on and others who were stupid enough to try and think they'd outsmart him.

Oh well can be ignored since PIS/CIS is off here anyway and here Lucy would just blink him out of existence instead of bothering to use his intellect that he favors over his power.

aren't constantines con's powered by his magic? he is smart and all, but any proper cosmic will be able to read his mind, i asume it is magic protecting it??

anyway either magic is involved or cosmics are gigantic idiots..

if there is magic involved, doom should have acces to his aswell.. and while killing is not allowed mentally torturing his opponents to pudding is all part of the game..

something doom should be able to do to everybody barring joker.. and the 1v1 well its all up for grabs
