I think there are too many racist jokes. IMO, the "n" word should be a perm ban. Any durogatory/racist term should be a perm ban. I don't really have to the time (or the patience) to point out any certain people/threads/posts, but I think you should take that stuff into consideration. Its not just a word.

Unfortunatly, it is just a word. When such words are used to cause maximum offence, IE someone not joking around, we tend to slap em with a ban. Not perm though. Although that depends on the nature of the poster, and we do give people who like to ride the line of joking and not joking warnings. Trust us, if you feel offended by a post report it too the section mod (section its posted in), or a Smod.

To be honest with you, being politically correct all the time just turns you into an insecure fuck who needs a slap of the real world.

I think that the use of those kinds of words are, in fact, annoying.. I would be much more happy if people didn't use them, but I don't think that is going to happen very quickly.. Perhaps a temporary ban would be good, or some kind of infraction.

Depends on how its used I suppose

If its just to outright flame someone then yeah ban

Joking then its just another word for me. Something Ive come to get use too in my time here.

i feel the term 'racist joke' is an oxymoron, as long as it is in jest you shouldn't complain. So insert a racist joke here to go with whatever colour you are, Dealing With (t)It(s).

Live with it, this is the internet. If someone used a rascist slur on me in real life I'd be pissed, on the internets, I wouldn't care.

Also, just because someone says that they are joking around, doesn't actually mean that they are joking around.

I agree with this statement. After reading some of the responses in the "^ (use bro)" thread, I added a couple more to my list.

or they can go into their user CP and go to buddy/ignore lists and type in the member's name that they wish to ignore.

Posts by an ignored member appear just like if it was deleted...

:love...couldn't have said it better myself.

But then it can be questioned, why is there even need for racism/sexism on a forum site? I mean, whats really all that funny about making fun of the backgrounds/sex/ethnicity of other people? Which brings around another point of, if some people get banned for the n' word, and others don't, how fair is it?

To enforce rules and policies, it should be equally shared, if one person gets in trouble for something, another person should as well.

Another thing, if a user gets banned for using the 'N' word, what makes it ok for a MOD to use the word faggot? If you're going to enforce rules upon certain things, then don't make yourself above the rules. I understand if there is a homosexual on the staff, but it still doesn't make it ok. I'm Jewish, and if I walk up to another Jewish person, and call them a Kike, its not ok, its still as offensive as a normal person to say it.

There are way to many loop holes in these guidelines.

I don't find words racist, in fact i am so un-racist, the division in terms of race.. are simply not perceived by me.

I freely use any racial slur because i feel no hate or discrminiation against any race.

I find those that get offended by racial slurs to be racist themselves, because to find a word that you feel is offensive to a certain race, shows that you are dividing people in terms of race.

And also, i don't understand why all the seriousness on a forum which is "fun-focused".

I haven't shouted ^ (use bro) any time, but yes; you are a hypocrite and a whiny bitch. You have nothing against saying Jesus or Christ and yet you bitch about ^ (use bro)?

I feel the same way for the most part. [other then I don't use racial comments. :sweat]
It just makes me feel bad at times to see people upset over getting made fun of in a forum thats supposedly user friendly.

EDIT: Also, the factor of there are younger people on the forums, do they really need to hear racial slurs? ._.

^ I only use racial slurs because im used to it and it is common and a normal thing amongst my peers.

I am a slave to conformity so shoot me xD

I live in London which is one of the most diverse places in terms of race.

The intergration of all the different cultures has made people of my generation largely un-racist to the point we frequently joke and jest using racial slurs without any offence what so ever.

We are so used to different cultures that we respect each and everyone person, regardless of race.

Well, technically they never hear the racial slurs on this forum. In any case, there's a large chance that they've already heard them and a shitload more elsewhere.

Yes and no [ I didn't hear a racial slur till I was like..13. xD]
I don't know, if this forum is suppose to be for all ages then I don't
think racial slurs and sexism really fall into that category well.

    I don't know.
I agree with you Amanda as well.
But then again, like you said, it depends on the personality of a person, honestly. I try not to take offense to things, even though I do at times.
While some people brush things off as a joke, other's take it seriously.
A joke isn't worth hurting a person, or at least, thats how I was raised.

There is plenty of bullshit going on elsewhere, why bring it to a forum, thats all I'm saying.
