    So right.

The gravity and therefore density of Toriko Earth is kind of weird.

In Toriko, the Earth's gravity is stated to be stronger when closer to the planet's core

This is also true in real life earth,

However, the issue is that the gravity shouldn't have a such a huge increase; "Nearly five times as much" at only tens of thousands of meters

So, what do you guys think?

I think that Shima is aware gravity is a thing that exists, but can't be fucked to make it super accurate. :33

^ this like any other mangaka or comic book writer they can't really be bothered with physics even if they know the term/effect.

That appears to be the consensus here

If Toriko world is the size of Jupiter, then ...

The obvious issue with that though is that jupiter has a greater surface gravity than Toriko Earth.

Unless you can prove Toriko world gravity is 24.79 m/s? its not gonna change anything.

Yeah, weighing twice as much more than every other planet in the solar system doesn't change anything, does it? The entire planet was rocked by the attack, down to the very core, which has greater mass than the surface. The more mass a planet has, the greater the gravitational pull.

You know .. this could be just used instead of "but earth's density"

make it 5*mass as a small depth in neglected .

    The point is obvious

you have a planet that is 140 thousand kilometers in diameter

At 10 kilometers depth , The gravity is 49 m/s^2

so , Use 139,980 kilometers and 5 g to get the mass

or 140000 as the 20 or so kilometers is pretty much useless in the first place

Instead of crying about the planet being incredibly "dense" and that it is at least earth density for some reason .. and other arguments

Then the surface gravity would be effectively 5g, which is definitely not the case.

That's kind of .. obvious :iria

Ignore the surface , Use the underground

Of course the surface shouldn't change much from 5 gs but there you have it :zaru:zaru

why would I use the underground when I already know that whatever result it's gonna give me is bullshit?

I'm not really sure how this helps us, since we still don't know surface gravity from this (or rather we don't know if it's different from 1g) :hmm

meh .. Toriko world weirdness + lolfiction = :psyduck

This shows that the density of a planet is far greater if its solid than if it's gas. Toriko planet is solid and gas giant size, therefore it's far denser than the Earth.

everyone needs to stop missing the point.

It's not about density, it's about Gravity.

Did you people all miss chapter 259?

The Toriko planet has an absurd internal shape, with the "darker" mass here being a lower density material (lifeform?) that grew from materials inside the original planet (white mass)

While it doesn't explain the gravity change directly, it's silly to think gravity would work there in the exact same way as on a typical planet in real life.

hmm, average density of living organisms is ~1000 kg/m^3, about 5.5 times less then average Earth density

The organism is mineral-like. Can't really speculate much about it until we know what it really is.

Though unknown, it's density is still greater density than the Earth, as the organism seems to have expanded off the original Earth. That would add to it's weight & all.

My theory is that under the human world is gravity blocking rock which prevents the natural gravity you get from the size of the planet (and in gourmet world) getting through. If you go deeper you cut through the layers of gravity-blocking rock and thus more of the gravity leaks through.

does the manga state by how many times the gravity on the surface of the GW is bigger then in the HW ?

Nope. :distracted it didn't.. and only some part are higher g. not every part... Komatsu living in GW without getting any problem with Gravity, and he still is practically still a normal human. :maybe

Reading up on this reminded me of the absurd solution Toriko found for higher gravity: Cells building static electricity to electromagnetically counter gravity :lmao
