    - Merzbow and Michael Jackson are both geniuses in their own way, one of them is a genius at creating music and dances that can make people feel incredibly happy, the other is a genius at creating performances and music that disturb people deeply. In their own ways, both of them revolutionized music as an artform; Merzbow through his bondage based performance art and animal rights activist noise albums, Michael Jackson through his music videos, dance choreography and stage performances.

    - Prince hasn't been relevant as a musician since the 80s because he was consumed by his own narcissism. He completely destroyed his entire career and legacy by alienating an entire generation of potential fans by being a piece of shit about the internet.

    - Death Grips was a fad that will phase out over the years, however they will be remembered more for their personas moreso than the actual music they created. Kind of like how a ton of people know who GG Alin is, but not that many people actually like listening to his music.

    - Jazz and Electronic are two of the best forms of music in terms of how intricate the music presented in those forms can potentially be.

    - Kanye West is hilarious because he's obsessed with becoming as successful a musician or comparable to Michael Jackson (constantly trying to compare himself to Michael, citing him as an inspiration/motivation), but he doesn't even have half the talent or work ethic Michael had, nor even 1/10th of his fame, sales or love from his fans. The one thing he shares with him is being persecuted by the media and society for being an extremely successful black man. He kind of earns the flak he gets though, by being an overtly arrogant asshole who thinks he can be compared to Jackson despite not being able to sing well or dance.

    >was a fad

    If they're a fad they're a pretty long one.

And I've certainly seen more people who know about Death Grips than GG Allin and/or the Murder Junkies.

Death Grips are hardly a fad, seeing as their cult following has only gotten larger. They've been prolific throughout this entire decade, releasing many celebrated albums.

If anything I see them in hindsight becoming a signature 2010's band that we'll associate this decade with.

-I'm not a big fan of much of the 80s or anything beyond that is similarly electronic or has even more electronic instruments. Not saying that the music is objectively awful, to each their own. I just have strict preferences on which electronic instruments I like and how they should be balanced, and that was lost in the 80s. (There are exceptions, some songs that are just too catchy, but generally that luster wears off quickly)

-I enjoy listening to Early Music (Medieval and Renaissance), and not just from a musicological standpoint but as in I am entertained by listening to it just like any good pop music. I also am fascinated by all of the instruments from the time, such as crumhorns and recorders. Viols also sound cooler than violins. And you want a really unpopular opinion? I prefer the timbre of the harpsichord over the piano. I fully acknowledge that the piano is a significant technological improvement, I just prefer the harpsichord.

Well I'll stop there because I'm sure reading this would be as boring as watching paint dry. lol

-Beyonce is famous for copying the styles of numerous more talented artists(Ciara, Tina Turner, Janet Jackson, etc)
-Chris Brown is a far better dancer than Michael Jackson(though that's all he has over him).
-Nicki Minaj is the best female rapper to date.
    -Elvis was garbage
    -Kurt Cobain is overrated

    Just for starters.

I couldn't care less about AC/DC and the Beatles. I'm not saying they're bad, but I just can't listen to them. Always turn the radio to another station when one of them comes on. In AC/DC's case it's the vocalist (just not for me) and the Beatles just sound bland and boring.

-Numetal was the worst trend in music that produced some crap ass bands. The only positive is the fad died.
-Pop music is not all as bad as people claim, but the majority is pretty bad.
-Lady Gaga can sing well and her creativity was refreshing at the time and still is.
-I prefer mostly covers over original songs, especially Wicked Games sung by a female. I think its amazing.

-Its illogical to dislike Justin Bieber and yet like any other male pop act, seeing as he doesn't do anything different from them. In fact, aside from MJ and Timberlake, he's probably the best male pop act.

-Ludacris lost all his musical talent when he cut his hair.

-Chris Brown is responsible for the death of Omarion's career, as well as robbing Usher of the MJ throne.

-Whitney ruined Bobby, not the other way around.

-Aaliyah's death boosted her career well beyond what it probably would've went had she lived. I love her, but chances are she would've faded away with time like Brady, Monica, etc.

-The Boys were a far superior group to New Edition.

-Acts like The Osmonds and Eminem were proof that the white man doesn't want black people to have anything.
