A lot of you will have noticed by now, but for those who haven't or are still wondering what happened—staff learned earlier today that Xiammes has passed away. We decided to make this thread to announce his departure from the forum that he cared for so much and to celebrate the memories we have of him. To be honest, he and I did not always see eye to eye on things. We had a lot of differing opinions on how to moderate the forum, but I never once doubted his commitment and dedication to this forum and its user base. Whether you agreed with his style of modship or not, I don't think anyone can deny that Xiammes was a man who really cared about this place. And I believe that's reflected in the amount of support he received from staff while he was still ill, and the amount of condolences he's presently receiving from the rest of the members in light of this recent tragedy. When all is said and done, Xiammes was a lot more than just a good staff member. His conduct and diligence as a moderator were, more than anything, a reflection of character. He had a profound inner strength that went unnoticed a lot of the times, and was incredibly kind, earnest, and forgiving—possibly to a fault. I do not have the honour of being able to say that I was especially close friends with Xiammes, but I will say that he was always someone I held, and continue to hold, in very high esteem. The forum could do with more genuine people like him. I will always look back fondly at the times when I trolled you for liking Dragon Ball Super and when you'd troll me back for my drinking habits. They used to grate me a little back then (which means your trolling was successful), but I know it came from your deep capacity to care for your fellows. I took your company for granted, and if there's any one regret I have, it's that I didn't reach out to you when I heard the news initially to let you know how much I care. Rest in peace, man. You weren't just a good guy—you were the best.
