    Eh?
Capture video stills? "Print Screen" > Image editing program > Paste Is that what you mean?

Or if you want to capture an image on a VHS tape or something you'll need to buy some expensive stuff for just making gifs.

BUT if your just trying to make gifs, out of a sequence, I *beleive* virtualdub does that.

You have to be more specific about what you're trying to do.

Crap, I can't think of any programs, but I do know that WinDVD 6 platinum has a built in feature that does this automatically for you. You just select the part of the video you want in your .gif.

Crtl + I is a built-in screencap feature in Win Meda Player 9.. VirtualDub is good if you want to capture video, can also save videosequences as a bunch of stills.. :) Great for gif-making assuming you ave a program to build the gif in.. :)

You are facing many problems when u want to get the quality you want. You will have to experiment a lot, meaning a LOT of time.

Also you will have to get the frame rate right on each gif. ANd then there is compatibility. As mozilla based browser get a higher framerate than microsoft.

VirtualDub will literally make a whole series of images from the frames of your video, which is perfect for what you're trying to do (make animated GIFs).
