Since the show is made in Japan, I imagine, I wonder what the Japanese people think about it. I'm sure they love it, but I wonder what questions they ask on their forums.
They must have more evolved minds, and understanding of manga/anime/jutsus/Overall Asian view on things.
Do they ask stupid questions like we do on these forums? lol

If any English/Japanese speaking person reads this, would you mind finding a japanese forum somewhere, and posting a few of their questions on here for us to see?

Maybe read some of their posts, and get some cool insight that we may have overlooked so far.

    LOL

I have often wondered about Japanese Naruto forums myself.

They probably do have a better understanding than we do because they don't have the problem of translation errors.

Also, you might want to remove that last comment from your post. It may offend some people. I'm not offended, but there are some stupid people out there.

^ um, yeah, Japan attacked USA with the whole pearl harbor thing.
And supposedly the fans over there are younger, cuz its a show orginally published for 10 yr old boys...so being all asian, their discussion probably = ours with the age gap.

I highly doubt the Japanese have the time to hang around at forums as much as the Western fans do, considering how full their timetables are and how busy with school, work and stuff they are all around the clock. That's Japanese mentality.

My japanese penfriend says she barely comes to update her own Naruto fanwebsite and talk to other fanartist and that's it.

it's people on the internet and people tend to act the same regardless of nationality once they are on the internet.

anyway, if you're curious enough, chance yout google.com to google.jp and do a search.

No, it's not, since I have more than one Japanese penfriend and they tell me a lot about their life in fandom, in fact. I have been a part of that long enough that I can judge it, I assume.

The Japanese Naruto fandom is a lot more enjoyable and peaceful than the Western one.

I believe it's good to learn Japanese and join Japanese forums, since there's no possible way there's l33t hax0r slang or embarrassing typos in that language like in English. And since tons of words/letters/symbols have similar meanings, I can assume most Japanese (even 10 year olds) talk properly, and don't have to deal with all sorts of embarrassments English speakers do (OMG neji s soooooooo pwns every1 omgwtfbbq).

    That's what you thought.
Dutch has internet slang, German has internet slang, French has internet slang, Japanese probably will also have it's own internet slang.
It's just that you're fortunate enough to never see it...

There's probably a thread in the jap-forums with the title "What are the American/English Naruto Forums like?"

They most likely wouldn't be anything too interesting seeing as most of the members over there would be below age 13.

    Exactly what I would say.

In Japan, this anime/manga is aimed at 9~13 year old Japanese boys, who - despite their education system there being far superior to any 'western' one - probably wouldn't have too many intelligent discussions going on. Well...at least not to the level of some of the great discussions/theories I've seen on these forums.

That's why my Japanese correspondant laughs at me whenever I bring up the topic of Naruto. She tells me that it's a bit like the American equivalent of an 18 y/o still watching Power Rangers.

They think Deidara is a cyborg. After hearing this I don't think I want to know more about how they think.

The major Japanese Naruto "forums" are in 2chan, and there's alot of people who post there. Alot of things are basically the same; for example the "Who's your favorite character", discussions over the latest chapters, predictions for the future, what you think about the series, etc.

I was reading this one topic and they were having a debate over who the strongest character was. Some people think it's Jiraiya, some people think it's Itachi, some people think it's Sandaime, some people think it's Yondaime, and some people think it's the "Leader", just like these forums. There's even a couple of people who still think Orochimaru is stronger than Itachi, just like this forum.

The Japanese fans don't really have any more insight into the series than the English fans, and their boards are about as "intelligent" as this one, so you're not missing out on anything. I can give the link to the main forums if anyone wants to see for themselves (and if they understand Japanese).

"the japanese are like ants" hmmm, great generalization and by that same logic Americans are like huge beached whales selfish to the core with no sense of responsibility, right?

They probably discuss similar things to what goes on here, I cant imagine it would go to much futher than discussing the manga/Anime release and making FC and such.

But their focus is different, I think they should been less impressed by the culture (something that many anime fans like is the japanese culture). Also most the "Dattebayo" threads should not exist.

It has to be similar to our forums, but the difference is what intrigue.
