I guess he can do it and survive? I mean...i dont know. It's suppose to give your "life energy" to others right? Not just 'chakra'. So I dont know...

    Weird

    He will die.

He is essentially sacrificing his "life force".

    No life force = death.

Doesnt being immortal mean infinite lifeforce.

If your lifeforce was limited then it would eventually run out and you would die.

^ Yes, but it seems that his life force is limited.

    He has aged hasn't he?

And wait, wot, no :huh...Immortal doesn't mean he has an infinite life force :confused

okay lets put this in perspective.

you got 2 types of moves

    1 uses chakra
the second uses life energy like chiyos jutsu

Like chakra life force can be used a little at a time. ie: when chiyo healed sakura she only used a little of the remaining life force she had left.

Life force from that situation seems to quantify the amount time your body can sustain living.

If it was just an exchanging of one life force for another life force. Naruto wouldnt have had to help chiyo bring back gaara since no matter how little she had left the jutsu should have still worked.

Therefore it would seem an immortal would have more life force than mortals and thus could perform the jutsu and still have life force left since the jutsu seems to have a set amount of lifeforce needed to perform. For mortals this is fatal since the amount is so high but hidan should be able to do it.

Im saying the jutsu isnt an exchange of ALL the life force you have for another life but basically a certain amount of life force for another life and in the case of mortals if you give up that much life force you die.

Because it couldnt just be giving up your life for another life or otherwise chiyo would have been able to do the jutsu without Naruto's help.

No i think you give away ALL your life force.

The thing is, when she done it on Sakura, she only had to give PART of her lifeforce, as Sakura's own made it up.

When she got to Gaara, let's just assume she was at 20% life force, and she needed the full 100% to revive Gaara.

Naruto just gave the extra 80%.

And then let's just say some generic answer like:

Kyuubi life force is infinite :nuts

    That doesnt make sense.

Sure she was 20% of the life force she had before she healed sakura.

but performing the jutsu the second time she still gave 100% of the life force she had left meaning it either should have worked.

OR YOU NEED A SET AMOUNT AND NARUTO GAVE HER THE AMOUNT SHE NEEDED

I'd assume Chiyo's resurrection jutsu would kill Hidan (if he was the one performing it, of course), just like Shiki Fuujin.
