    But how modern?

    Serialism is for cucks.

And no actual classical music has been composed since the mid 20th century.

    Checkmate.

My listening habits primarily lean towards metal, hip-hop and jazz, the latter of which would be my favorite genre on the whole.

As far as subgenres go (time to strap it on and RYM this bitch up): Spiritual Jazz, Avant-Prog, Synthpop (80's, mostly), American Primitivism, Dub, Powerviolence, Death Metal & Southern Hip-Hop.

Been listening to a ton of Yes, Prince, Eric Dolphy, Kate Bush, and projects from Wolfgang Voigt, mostly Gas.

My favourite genres tend to be most forms of punk or metal.

However, with that said, more recently I have been listening to a lot of Radio Head, Incubus, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Deftones, Placebo, 21 Pilots and The Stone Roses.

Fuck is 'sad ska' / 'jazzy ska'?

And how do you like reggae but hate ska?

Something's being lost in translation here.

    Nothing is.

I don't like Ska and I like Reggae.

That's like saying it's impossible to like Soul without liking Hip Hop.

It's actually nothing at all like that.

Even then, liking hip-hop and hating soul, would also be almost incomprehensible.

I've been listening to so much indie lately it's poison.

Alex G (iv listened to Nintendo 64 like ten billion times at this point) , a few cherry glazzer songs , Mac demarco, fucking MILD HIGH CLUB ( the dark blue colored album) , good morning , teen suicide , Elvis depressedly , the growlers , 1000 more.

A lot of it sucks but something about the genre has shackled me lately.

Favorite Genre: Drum and bass and other electronic sub genres like Chilstep
Lately I have listened to DJ Okawari.
His pieces are absolutely gorgeous and can be sad and happy in the same time.
    Sadly he doesn't produce anymore.

a few years ago it would have definitely been hip-hop but now it's honestly between that and folk.

I don't have a definitive favorite genre. I tend to love all of these fairly equally: (70s) Soft Rock, (60s/70s) Progressive/Psychedelic Rock, (60s/70s) Soul/R&B, and British Folk/Folk Rock. On the Classical end of the spectrum I like Early Music (Medieval and Renaissance), Baroque, Classic, and French Impressionism. Baroque is probably my favorite altogether, but Early Music and Impressionism fight pretty heavily for that spot, too.
