Over the course of the series, we've been presented with several masters, most of which have thought Goku.

Therefore, in your opinion which master do you like most? Or who do you think had the most impact on Goku's training and character?

Could it be his beloved Grandpa Gohan?

    Is it Master Roshi?

    Or perhaps Master Korin?

    Is it Kami?

    Or maybe King Kai?

Or maybe Universe 7's Angel, Whis?

I got King Kai because he seems to have been the most useful till this day, In the toei version of things Goku still finds a use for the kaioken and the spirit bomb is still an old reliable to finish villians off and is the reason Goku has at least one body in Z

Whis and Roshi are a wash though I suppose Roshi could never do what Whis does while we can’t say the opposite.

Don’t know how good Whis would be with complete rookies though.

Roshi also taught Goku the kamehameha in OGDB and Mafuba in Super. Along with giving him the nimbus.

Whis hasn't really taught Goku anything other than being a better training partner.

Adding Korin to this poll only gives me the impression that you hate cats :catmad Kidding, but I've voted Kai especially b/c of the boost Kaio-ken provided in both DBZ and Super. I can definitely see the popular favorite Roshi winning it all (despite him still not knowing the flight technique). Whis has provided some slow-paced training that's probably hindered by the general pace of Super, but no new techiniques = no win from me in this poll.

Probably Roshi or Kami, both of them were vital to building Goku's foundations.

Roshi taught Goku to work hard, play hard and rest easy.

Kami taught Goku how to meditate, how to sense all around him using the wind and his ki. He taught him how not to make wasted movements.

Master Roshi training is so fucking useless the only people voting for him are blind as hell.

In my opinion it’s Whis hands down.

Roshi had the best "life" lessons
King Kai had the best "fighting" lessons/techniques, even throughout Super, aside from Hakai
Whis has the most to offer in overall growth and knowledge of power, and is portrayed to be stronger for quite some time.

Gonna go with Roshi. While other masters taught Goku vital skills, Roshi taught Goku his foundations and developed him and his ideals whixlch shaped the person and the fighter he would grow into as an adult. Without those, he wouldn't have gotten anything else. Roshi is the man

Whis is shit, basically tries to teach them UI yet Vegeta is not suited for it + Goku barely learns it. King Kai was the best, and Roshi was second. King Kai taught the kaioken and spirit bomb.

King Kai's techniques have saved the day more often than anyone else's by my count.

I will add that this list is incomplete. The exclusion of the Yardrats is regrettable. We never saw the Yardrat who taught Goku IT but that dude saved the universe indirectly. Also whoever taught Goku the Fusion dance was very useful.

He's from Rurouni Kenshin, but they didn't put his arc in the anime. There is a movie with him in though.

Well I haven't watched DBZ, but I would assume that you can't base it on whoever is the most overpowered character, but rather whoever had the best teaching style!! :nod:nod
