What are you going on about, fool? It's NORMAL to take your shoes off before entering a respectable home.

I pay a lot of money for my place in New York (a lot of money).

When you walk into a nice place, you take your shoes off. You walk into a trashy place? Who cares about their carpet.

I've got an addendum for nice place etiquette.

If you're visiting a really rich friend (unlikely for an NFer), they generally have maids who vacuum and shit, and everyone keeps their shoes on (including the owner).

I happen to always take off my shoes/flip flops when I go into my apartment, but I have a different pair of flip flops that I bought new and (still) cleaned the bottom of, that I then only put on to walk around the house with. Because dirt and dust and particulate matter still finds its way onto your floor (taking off your shoes before walking in just helps minimizes it), and I just don't like walking barefoot. I usually always wear socks too and change them regularly throughout the day. I have a shit ton of socks.

Sometimes people are just too lazy or uncaring to do it consistently all the time, I'd guess. Thinking they can just clean the floor later. I prefer to clean the house, take a shower, and minimize how much dirt gets into the house in the first place. The problem is I have a dog. I try to wipe her paws every time she goes out and comes back in but yeah.

Anyone who doesn't take their shoes off while at home is weird, however as a guest in another persons home its quite awkward. It depends how its presented, if there is a shoe area is far less uncomfortable.

I would, but I am a high fall risk. It's not a good idea. That's why I wear shoes most of the time.

In my house, I wear house flip flops because floor is hard.

At someone else home I keep my shoes off unless I'm allowed to remove them.

If it's a party then people aren't just gonna walk around barefoot

It'd be a different story if it was just a few people staying for dinner

Just another reason why house parties aren't my thing

I always do. It's rather annoying when I realize I've forgotten something inside and have to take my shoes all the way off again to go get it. But I'm on point with it like a dainty little Asian housewife that would make Mael proud.

I take my shoes off, indoors, but I put them on in the shower because I don't like how the tub feels.

For me, going barefoot indoors is more about avoiding foot fungus than it is avoiding bringing outside shit into the house.

When I was little and watchinh Friends I always wondered the same thing. Especially when in shoes they would jump on bed or table.

In my country you always take the shoes, slippers, or whatever you're wearinf before entering someone's home. I think it's only natural. You've been outside, shoes gets dirty.

The only occasion where this isn't a case is if for example you have a wedding reception at home. So to keep things smooth and fast, people don' t take their shoes off.

@makeoutparadise I use socks sometimes, but the problem is that if your feet get cold or sweat for whatever reason, the socks insulate the coldness or moistness.

It's ok as long as you take them off during sex. It's weird. Unless you're a chick, then it's hella hot. Especially if they're kneehighs:druul

If you ask people to take off their shoes they look at you funny and see it as an annoying thing to do.
Some even joke with me like “oh thats right you’re asian I guess I’ll play along and take off my shoes”

I am white myself and I know a lot of white peepz don't take off their shoes in my country.

But I dated this Asian guy for ages and he and his family always took off their shoes.
Ever since I've been taught as to why that is I always take off my shoes as well.
