Why isn't Oro a Jashin devout? It's totally his thing

It couldn't be more pefect for him.

The main form of worship in Jashin is killing people. Oro loves to kill people. His hobbies include torturing people for sick experiements in his secret BDSM dungeon, and starting wars. Perfect.

Oro wants to live forever so that he can aquire all jutsu. Well, at the low low cost of mindless slaughter, he can! Pefect! (assuming Hidan is not immortal via a gekkei kenkai, but that seems unlikely)

Oro enjoys wearing make up and generally girling it up. Jashin involves being covered in wierd looking markings. Perfect!

The only reason I can think of is that Jashin looks down stalking children, having girly hair, and alcaholism, so Orochimaru decided it wasn't worth it.

He keeps people alive and tortures them, against Jashinism.

Anyway, that and the fact that Orochimaru believes knowledge is the key to gaining ultimate understanding, as opposed to putting your faith in God for understanding of the universe. He's an athiest basically.

And Hidan says killing monks is frowned upon so there's some strictures there apparently about who you can kill and in what time and place. Orochimaru doesn't like restrictions.

Actually, the main reason I figured Oro wouldnt go for the religion and it's immortality is that he can't jump from body to body, therefore never gaining to Sharingan.
I mean, if he takes over Sasuke's body, he can learn jutsu's hell of alot quicker.
Not to mention Oro seems like the type to not follow rules, but do what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants so he can become the most powerful ninja. Why the hell would he want to waste time with a religion and it's codes, even if its that type.

Jashin devotees kill for the sake of killing. Orochimaru almost always kills for a specific reason, and often when he kills someone it's in the name of mad science. In fact, ideally Orochimaru doesn't usually want to kill anyone, it's just that death tends to be the inevitable result of his actions.

Jashin frowns upon torture and experimentation on living beings. It takes all the fun out of being a mad scientist, but besides that it does seem to be right up Oro's alley.

You know those Christians who only go to church on Easter Sunday? I could see Oro being the equivalent in Jashin.
