They have a new OVA coming out soon. Dragon Ball, Rurouni Kenshin, and many other series have made comebacks across the world.

What do you think the odds of YYH getting new material in the near future is?

I wouldn't count on it, and personally I wouldn't be in favor of it to begin with. It ended just fine as it is and I don't want it to follow the same path as DB were it becomes just a marketing machine for SJ.

Probably not with Togashi directly involved, even though YYH had a lot of potential. I think Togashi is mostly focused and concerned with HxH continuation.

If a studio ever asks to do an anime project for YYH (perhaps a reboot, or just a spinoff), Togashi should totally greenlight it. The best thing we can do is support the new OVA, which looks really good.

I still find it amazing that YYH finds itself into new Jump video games and new DVD/bluray/OVA releases.

only if the funimation gets the dub crew back together, and decides to finally license poltergeist report

i think YYH can have a resurge in popularity if that happens. but im not counting on a remake or a new series.

wouldn't you like to see a YYH remake, like HxH had?

i think it would be superb and the series popularity would ignite again, without a doubt

I would not, because i think the original series is just fine and ended fine, unlike HxH, which is why it needed a remake in the first place.

I am not a fan of remakes for the sake of remakes. They have to be highly anticipated or done for a franchise that didn't get its proper dues at the time. Like 666 Satan, or Psyren

Yusuke....especially in the funimation version. Justin Cook elevates the character to a brand new level

The only people that think Bleach is better than YYH have not seen YYH.

if that was the case, every long running battle shounen ever created is a "bad DBZ clone", but i'd say tons of other series do things infinitely better than DB, and YYH is no exception

The new Two Shot OVA that recently came out, along with the production of toys still on the market being made, there is a possibility, the door is open I guess.

What would have to happen is the Japanese market would need to show a demand for the manga to come back. And Togashi would have to be used in the manner as Akira Toriyama is with Super; writing outlines and having the studio do the rest filling in the story. It can be done. Also, Yu Yu Hakusho characters was included in the Jump Force game recently released as well.

And since there seems to be success from remerging 90s shonen like Super, RK, there is always a chance.

I think the internet should start and pass around a petition to let those guys know that there is still a major fanbase out here and that there will be profit.

Honestly the OG anime is good enough for the series. Since I feel like if Studio Pierrot brought it back it wouldn't be able to live up to the moments the old series created that we love. And honestly with Pierrot already working on two ongoing series at once YYH's visuals would probably suffer and just end up looking decent enough just because its a modern anime being compared to a anime from 1992-1994. Yet there will probably still be many moments like people felt in DBS that will feel inferior to the original series which will make bringing the YYH anime back feel completely disappointing and kinda pointless.

the original series + the 2001 dub is just perfect in a way that could never be matched. the only thing bad about it was that they never dubbed poltergeist report

Nah, I would prefer some anime series just stay done. There's no need for it. It's already legendary in its own right.
