Apparently that's what most of the critics are saying about WW and in fact, some are comparing it to the first Captain America with the World War themes.

I don't think it's better villain wise for the Joker but I could see it being better in dialogue and action

This good news for them, at least she can hold her own and they have some formula of success for Green Arrow, Flash and Aquaman.

I don't think the world was ready for that franchise, it had poor promotion and honestly, it's not the right franchise to use employ from anime to live action, especially as a lead out franchise. I think they would have had a better shot with Gundam than Ghost in the Shell.

It could have worked if they didn't Americanize so much and try to pace it better. Then market it as a sci-fi flick

Perhaps, but I think before any of that, I feel they should establish a standard with something universally known (e.g. DBZ, Naruto and etc.) If they don't then you cannot market it as anything other than whatever genre they have. I maybe wrong because Death Note is in development but it really doesn't look as promising.

Problem with anime and Gaming movies in general they try to adapt an already told storyline into film. This isn't possible because games and shows have well pace line of progression to flesh out an entire story.
Now if they do a Gundamn they would need to treat it likes its new series and create their original Gundam story and place it within in the Gundam universe. That way the writers won't have to worry about following establish lore from an establish storyline.

Ghost in the shell could have work the same different story but kept the same elements from the anime that makes the series imo

I really do hope this movie is good.
WW was the first DC comic I ever read and it was quite good.
    DC needs a win anyhow.

They'd just do a story about her facing assassins that were raised like her, parallel with her origin and how she was turned by Hawkeye

If a big name villain is necessary they could use... Sin maybe? That'd be a neat contrast, red skull's daughter raised with privilege but not love against widow raised as a brainwashed slave who finds love and changes

I don't think anyone has delusions of widow helming her own franchise, just a one off movie

Villain could be one of her classmate from Red Room.
World of assassins is usually one of the easiest to adopt in a film. There shouldn't be a real problem as far as material for one film go. There is plenty that has happened in BW's life that can be turned into a movie.

I've seen a lot of comparisons being made to Cap 1 film. I suppose that's an improvement for DCEU. Cap 1 was a mediocre film so it's a step in the right direction for DCEU to go from from pigdisgusting > shit > mediocre.

The next big step for it is to see how it fares after the World War setting, Cap had the Winter Soldier, the fall of SHIELD and the uprising of Hydra. The biggest problem is that DC did not commit or have a standard organized plan (e.g. Phase 1, Phase 2 and etc.). They have been behind the 8-ball and the reasons why the first few movies were flops is because they designed it for idiots, the average person is much smarter about comic book heroes and they didn't respect their audience. In order for them to compete with Marvel, they would need to do much better and I think that's why they did so much better here with Wonder Woman. They focused on what was important (e.g. strong plot-line).

Im waiting for the tomatometer. Early reviews for MOS, BVS and SS were all positive as well until the reviews were posted on RT. The only one of those that lived up to the early hype being MOS.

I can see there being an early celebration for the reviews only to wake up the next morning and see WW at 30% on RT like what happened with BvS and SS

I usually tend to go by the user rating on RT as it really is on the money for me, that's why when people were saying that MoS was trash, I really didn't buy it until I watched the movie. Perhaps, I'm one of few that thought MoS was a good movie not the best or even great, but good.

That's why even though SS and DoJ got incredibly shitty reviews from critics it was not nearly as bad as they made it out to be. Ratings less than 30% mean there's more going on under the seam than everyone is privy to. SS was bad, but not 25% bad, same with DoJ.

Yeah, I do not believe that they should have it for the sake of having it, rather if they had a backgroudn subplot waiting in the winds that would be the way to go but if not then there's no point to it. I don't think I'd wanna wait an extra 5 mins just to watch people eating shawerma when I can go get it myself lol

That scene was strictly added because the international screenings opened earlier so they made that swarma scene to shut the American market up
