The vast technological power of the Xel'Naga vs. the vast magical demonic powers of the Burning Legion. Who would win?
Both are aware of each other and know they are fighting.

The Xel-Naga have interstellar travel and uber technology. Also they probably have the Protoss.

The Burning Legions are confined to planets and portals. I think they don't stand a chance

The Xel' Naga couldn't even defend themselves against the Zerg.

I'd have to go with the Legion on this; the Legion can do the same thing the Zerg did and just use sheer numbers.

Who said they have to move in space?

The legion could very well open up a portal into one of the Xel'Nagian ships and thar she blows...

They haven't been shown to be able to teleport like the Vortigaunts and shit in HL1.

From what we've seen it appears the Legion needs someone to actually open the portal for them. They can't just teleport themselves willy-nilly.

As for the Xel'Naga... Do we *know* they are dead...? The secret mission at the end of Brood War seems to hint that at least *one* is still alive and well.

Agreed. The Zerg basically destroyed the Xel' Naga save a few that *may* have escaped. Burning Legion can do that plus use magic...

Although as someone said they are confined to portals and planets so if the Xel'Naga could exploit that (from space).. they might have a chance.

The Xel' Naga sic the zerg and the protoss on the burning legion, hilarity ensues.

If you mean Xel' Naga by themselves, they were scientists, not fighters, so legion wins.

The Zerg also basically destroyed the Terrans AND the Protoss, both of which had star-spanning empires. Saying "They where beaten by the Zerg so hence they are weak" is kind of disingenous as the Zerg are not weak by any means.

Just because the Zerg could destroy the Xel'Naga (IIRC while they where busy celebrating) doesen't mean the Burning Legion can.

I have to imagine that the Xel'Naga, being uber amazing at the technology gig have some kind of planet destroying device. Since the Burning Legion are restricted to planets, and assuming high-powered, planet annihilating lasers go through Divine Armor...

Interstellar death ray for the win.

The Protoss had enough firepower to glass a planet's surface. (not destroy the entire planet, but kill anything living upon the surface)

From how people speak about the Xel'Naga (and what their temple could do) yeah, I'd say they have planet-destroying lasers.

I wonder how that temple firing the 2 crystals compares to the blowing up of the world tree....

isn't the leader of the burning Legion, Sargeras, one of the original gods that created the "craft" universe?

however, i feel that the Xel'naga are just toying with the Zerg and Protoss from the shadows in order to get them to form the ultimate race.

i think the Xel'nagans would know how to deal with a few leather winged demons.

He has to be on the same planet to do that. The Xel'Naga can annihilate the planet he's STANDING on.

What makes you think that he's limited to the same planet?=

Because he needs someone else to get him to another world. He can't just enter, he has to be summoned. (That's what that bloody effing "defend the lich" mission was for after all)
