yeah its only 4 volumes, and ends inconclusively. People who want to check it out can get it at O-No! Subs (not an advertisement just telling it like it is). anyway I remember back when they started releasing it it was one of their more popular mangas and we were sad when it got cancelled.

Then I started hearing about bleach after the first 10 chapters or so premeired in bleach and finally checked out a raw around issue 20 something. Once they picked it up I was kinda glad he moved on, ZP is good but not on par with Bleach IMO. I wonderr if his glasses friend MR Perfect or whatever his name is woulda wound up being evil and Aizen like.

Yes it is only 4 volumes :( From what I remember, it is Kubo's first manga and he made it during a very depressed point in his life. When he wasn't depressed anymore, he scrapped Zombie Powder and started Bleach (You can find a lot of similarities in the characters :D). Shame really, because Zombie Powder is a really good manga for what it is, it may seem a little rushed but it was only 4 volumes :p And the guy your talking about Drunken is CT Smith.

I actually heard that Kubo was maybe going to start up Zombie Powder again after Bleach was over. Since after Bleach he will be at the level of superstardom where he could photo copy his ass 18 times and then submit it to shonen jump and his fans would go crazy and it would be the next hit manga. So if he ever decided to take up ZP again it would most likely be a hit.

It seemed frighteningly similar to trigun. It was still good though.

Me I liked it more than both Trigun and bleach. The mystical west is a very fun place for me as an american I speaks more to my own life than feudal japan. I understand the genre conventions and its easy to catch the more subtle references.

Plus the main cast is very very much more interesting than in alot of other manga. They avoid many of the entanglements that you get when you have an uber main character, and the dialouge is fun and snappy and the character models are some of my favorite.

hm i just read zombie powder..i liked it. the comedy in it was pretty funny, a lot funnier than the stuff i read in bleach..prob b/c all the jokes revovle around breasts..which gets old after awhile..so i hope kubo tite sensei does continue with zombie powder after bleach ends.

Zombie Powder is a neat series, I'd be interested if Kubo picked it up again after he finishes bleach. The storyline definately has great potential and the characters are all cool.

(I think Kubo actually created a manga before ZP but I can't remember its title)

Zombie Powder was a splendid series, I enjoyed it. Besides the inconculsive ending, the manga had some great potential in becoming a great manga. I think Kubo ran into some depression when he was making Powder therefore he dropped it. You can see while reading Bleach the elements that Kubo took from Zombie Powder that are in Bleach.

Its an iffy for Kubo picking this one up again. Bleach still has a long way to go and Kubo might be drained from all the time making Bleach and might worry that Powder will not reach the fame it coudl've received. I do hope he picks it up if anyone got the wrong ideas from the above.

Has anyone else read Zombie Powder? It's only 4 volumes written by Kubo before he wrote Bleach. The story just stops, so I figure he either got tired of it or lost funding. A lot of the elements smack of Bleach, and it's interesting to read as a "drawing board" for his next manga, which has become so incredibly popular. I read it in Japanese, then found a translation. Crazy stuff. Anyone else like it?

I've heard of the series. The reason it stopped was because it wasn't very popular (bottom of the fan polls) and was eventualy dropped by Shonen Jump.

Well The 1st chapter was a lil too dry for my taste. The story line wasn't very interesting so I decided not to read that series.

I bought all four books off Amazon.co.jp for 300 yen each. Not bad at all, and there are little side stories in the back of the volumes 3 and 4. Kubo thinks up some crazy stuff. There's a story about a girl who has another girl/robot/thing that comes out of her, um, hip.

Viz Media just released volume 1 of Zombie Powder. I read it in the Shonen Jump magazine. It was pretty entertaining! I liked how witty Kubo made the characters to be. I still haven't gotten a hand on that volume....mmmm....:amuse

    Is Zombie Powder any good?

I was going to go out and begin collecting the series, I saw a preview for it in Shonen Jump, it was alright, but is it a good manga series?

Its a shame Kubo dident finish this, the story was a bit to cliche but the characters are so damn charmaistisc.
Its a good read and worth the time, four volumes are done in no time.

Uh... yeah, that's not what the manga is about. THIS zombie powder supposedly brings the dead back to life. It's worth a read, especially if you like Bleach.
